Overview & History
Out of intense and sincere desire of the people of Khordha to have an institution exclusively for girl students of the locality. Women's College, Khordha got its birth in the year 1981, with teaching facility in education as a subject of I.A 1981, +2 classes in 1983and to the degree students in 1987-88.
The department imparts honors teaching to 24 honors students in education after getting affiliation from R.D Women’s University w.e.f. 2015-16.
It is a full aided college situated in the heart of Khordha town. The college is about half kilometer away from main Bus stand and easily accessible from there corners of the town.
Students from different rural and urban areas were admitted and use to get there education coaching from this college.
The UGC has provided assistance and developmental grants to this college. Students are now coming from their home every day during the college and class hour.
Now the department is having its own room degree honors students keep regular contact with the department and takes the help of different teaching aids kept in the department.
The department of education is having one seminar library with most of the up-to-date publication of education books nearly 24 honors students in each class. Students are provided different type of teaching aids, books, magazines, for there their better performance.
The Department remain open from 9.30 A.M to 4.30 P.M is every working day of the college.
Many students of this department have been placed in different jobs and some of the students are continuing higher studies. Many are also in Govt. and management post in the state of Odisha.
The department organizes different seminars, extension studies and different competition in each year. Expect these the department also performs welcome, farewell, Ganesh puja, Saraswati puja and Teacher’s day in the Department.

M. A (English), M. Ed.Seminar Meeting On Inclusive Education
A seminar was held on the month of may Dated- 28.05.22 at Room No-01, on the topic “Inclusive Education” by Dr. Yudhister Khatua sir, Prof. in Education & the Chairperson of Teacher Association committee. The purpose of seminar was to inform the participants about the value of inclusive education in today’s institutions. Staff and students of different departments were also attended the seminar as the topic was quite relevant one. The resource person has delivered the importance of inclusive education very efficiently: each participant thoroughly enjoyed the session. They learn many important things specially the role of inclusive education in NEP 2020 policy.
Seminar Meeting On “Environmental Challenges: Our Common Future”
A seminar meeting was held on the month of April Dated 15 April 2023 at room no – 1 , on the topic “ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES : OUR COMMON FUTURE ”. It was presented by the environment society secretary Dr. Jaya Krushna Panigrahi sir. The purpose of the seminar was to provide an opportunity to the students to become engaged in real world environmental issues that transcend classroom walls. The resource person has delivered the importance and values of environment in today’s life. And also discussed about various global problems related to the nature like – climate change, global warming, ozone layer duplication, water pollution, air pollution, waste management etc. each participant thoroughly enjoyed the session.
